Civitella Paganico is a municipality in the Italian province of Grosseto (region Tuscany) and has about 3052 habitants.
The municipality of Civitella Paganico stretches in a very beautiful and wide territory, partly belonging to the Senese grounds and partly to the Maremma grossetana. The town and its hamlets are located within a scenery of rolling hills, castles, woods and wide grassland until the river Ombrone.
The municipality of Paganico contains the
frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and
hamlets) Civitella Marittima, Pari, Casal Pari,
Monte Antico, Casenovole, Dogana
and Petriolo.
Petriolo is well known because of its termal
waters which were already used by the
Etruscans and the Romans.
Pari as well as Civitella Marittima managed
to maintain all the ancient characteristics of
towns which were founded in the middle ages.
Paganico itself could only preserve parts of the ancient citywalls, but these give the town a very peaceful image.
From Paganico it takes only 30 minutes by
car to reach the coast by Grosseto. And
within 45 minutes you arrive at the first
skiingstation.
Paganico has its own website.
